Military personnel & Kids 10years and under get in FREE Safety.Community.Fun We are very happy to announce we will be going forward with Tampa AnimeDay (special edition) at our ORIGINAL location at the Embassy Suites Tampa/Brandon this December 12th! Due to the current health crisis we are doing our best to scale everything back so that we can give our AnimeDay friends and family a safe environment to come by and help support local anime vendors and artists. This will be a slimmed down version of our regular show because we want to not only be there for the fan communities but also to help support our local artists, vendors and even the venues because everyone in FL can use some help right now. Some bullet points to make things easy. -Masks will be required for all attendees. -Admission slashed to only $3 ! -Extra staff to help with crowd spacing. -Marketplace and Artist alley only to insure safety. While next year we will expect to be back and running as normal, this December 12th will be a stripped down version without events/panels/games. We know this is not ideal but for the safety of everyone we felt this was the best thing going forward. We will be following safety guidelines including monitoring room capacity, frequent cleaning of public spaces as well as regular hand sanitizing stations and extra staff to make sure everyone is able to keep safe distances. In addition we will be requiring masks for all attendees. Location: Embassy Suites Tampa/Brandon 10220 Palm River Road Tampa, FL 33619 website Marketplace: Our show features a 4,000 sq foot market place with a variety of anime, fantasy, comic and hobby dealers. Your sure to find some great gift ideas for both you and your friends. Its also a great place to meet other anime fans and find items you won’t see anywhere else. So be sure to stop by and take a look at what our vendors and artists have to offer. Events : (on hold until 2021) AnimeDay will also feature an event room. This area will show various anime panels throughout the day and will also be used to announce the costume contest winners. Check back later for a complete event schedule. Anime Screening: (on hold until 2021) Come visit the event room to relax and check out some new anime that you may not have seen yet. We will focus on showing the first episodes of newer anime series that just came out. Think of it as an Anime buffet. You can come in and sample a bit of everything to find out which ones you like. Fan Panels: (on hold until 2021) We are proud feature an event room for Fan Panels at Tampa AnimeDay. These will be held at various times throughout the day in our event room. Video Games: (on hold until 2021) We also feature a video game room to compliment our AnimeDay events. There will be multiple games and systems available to play. This will be a small casual gaming area that we hope all can enjoy. So stop by and get your game on. Video Game Tournament: (on hold until 2021) Sign up starts at 10am with tournament at 4:30pm Show us your gaming skills and take part in our small game tournament. Sign up for the tournament will be at the sign up table. Costume Contest : (on hold until 2021) Tampa AnimeDay will feature a costume contest where the vendors and artists in the marketplace are the judges. This is a friendly competition to both encourage people to dress up and to reward those that do. The costumes will be judged on a variety of levels with awards/prizes given out to the winners. To Enter : Contest sign up will be located next to the admissions table. Contestants will be asked to fill out a short entry form with your name, character name, series. We will also take a photo of you which will be used for the website as part of a gallery and to announce the winners online. Times: Judging is from 10am – 3:00pm and winners will be announced at 4:00pm in the event room) Cosplay Rules: To compete in the Costume Contest you must be an attendee of AnimeDay. You must be present and in costume to register. No registering for a friend. Contestants 13 years old or younger you must have a parent or guardian present when registering. This is an amateur contest so please only enter if you made most of the costume yourself. Costumes should be based on Anime/Manga characters or similar themed genre like video games, comic books, sci-fi, or fantasy. No Weapons or sharp edged items that can be harmful to others allowed. Bring a plastic sword not a real one. All guns must be non realistic or have the bright orange safety tip. All rules are subject to change and final interpretations of these rules are up to the AnimeDay staff members. By registering or attending this convention, all participants agree to these rules and give permission to AnimeDay to take and use photographs and videos of said participants for online and advertising use.
